Baby Boomers: Wake Up and Smell Those Woodstock Flowers

Hey guys, we’re now 50 years or older and many of us still have no real plan. I know. I remember. We are never going to get old or die. Guess what? It's not true. We all are aging and will eventually die. So let's get serious, just for a few hours, or whatever it takes. Don't do it for yourself; do it for your children and their children and so on.
My parents took the time to do it for me and because they did I have so many wonderful memories and keepsakes that I can pass to my child so the family history will be remembered. They made sure that I knew everything I needed to know to help make their passing easier on me and therefore much easier on them. I did not have to desperately look for days, weeks, or even months to find all their important papers explaining their wishes, and their well wishes for me.
So I am reminding all the baby boomers to gather the records of their lives on hard copy. There is nothing better when it comes to documenting our past. Not just your will, but investment documents, bank accounts, supplemental insurance info, power of attorney and even your tax returns should be included. And don’t forget those things that document your life and your family life together, like photographs, your wedding license, your military discharge papers, the Woodstock poster, whatever documents or mementos that mark the milestones and accomplishments of your unique life story.
Then, look into the future and see where you will be in 5 years, 10 years or 20. Now is the time, today is the day. Sit down with your attorney, accountant, insurance professional, and for sure with your financial advisor, and talk about what your wishes are and how you would like them carried out. Spell it out. My children will receive..... My grandchildren will receive..... I want to be buried or cremated..... I hid a lot of cash and you can find it.......,
Hey, how else will they know to carry out your wishes? How else will future generations know you were here on this earth?
